A pair of one up one down Grade II listed cottages previously joined to form a single dwelling that underwent a complete programme of renovation and extended to provide additional ground floor accommodation.
In addition the brief required the final building to include the best energy efficiency measures whilst respecting the historic nature of the building. These included underfloor heating throughout, a highly efficient gas boiler, sunpipes, wetrooms, wall, floor and roof insulation.
In addition the amount of debris taken off site was restricted and materials where possible were recycled into the project. The stone faced extension was constructed using Becowallform insulated shuttering used to achieve a very low U value with no cold bridging.
